Applications are invited for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator ( Group 'C' Post) in the following Offices:-
Category No.SR -1: Junior Hindi Translator In The Department Of Light Houses And Light Ships, Chennai
Classification: Group-C (Non- Technical)
Vacancy: Ur -1 (One). OH candidates are suitable for the post. (VH/HH candidates are not suitable for the post)
Scale of Pay: Rs.5000-150-8000
Initial Place of Posting: Chennai
Age Limits: 30 years
Upper Age Limit is relaxable upto: Relaxable for Government Servants (Departmental and Other Central Government Employees) upto 40 years in accordance with the
instructions or orders issued by the Central Government with 3 years continuous service.
40 years for OH candidates.
Essential Qualification: Master's Degree of a recognised University or equivalent in
Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level (OR)
Master's degree of a recognised University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as compulsory or elective subject at degree level (OR)
Master's Degree of a recognised University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level (OR)
Bachelor's Degree of a recognised University with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject plus, a recognised diploma or certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English or vice versa in Central or State Government Offices including Government of India Undertaking.
Job Responsibilities: The incumbent of the post of Junior Hindi Translator will be responsible for implementation of Official Language in the Directorate as per various instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
This being a solitary post,the individual who is holding the post will not only be in-charge of Hindi Cell in the Directorate but also supposed to carry out all works pertaining to Hindi independently and complete them at the appropriate time which are as detailed below:
Conducting Hindi Workshop in the Directorate, with a view that officials in all categories will be able to achieve more knowledge in Hindi especially use of Hindi in day to day official works.
Translation of letters from Hindi to English and vice versa.
Hindi Correspondence in general. Preparation of all forms and rubber stamps in bilingual for use in the Directorate.
Attending meeting in connection with implementation of Official Language arranged by TOLIC/ other Government departments in Chennai.
Sending various returns as prescribed by the Government, related to Official Language, to the concerned authorities.
Conducting meetings periodically in the Directorate in order to discuss the achievements in Hindi.
Deputing staff to attend classes conducted by the Hindi Teaching Scheme for appearing in Hindi Exams.

Deputing of staff for 'Hindi Typewriting /shorthand training to the respective departments.
Conducting various programmes/competitions/meetings in connection with Hindi fortnight during the month of September every year.

Vacancy: UR -1 (ONE) OH Candidates are suitable for the post. (VH/HH candidates are not suitable for the post) Scale of Pay : Rs.5000-150-8000 Initial Place of Posting : Visakhapatnam with AISL Age Limits : 30 years
Upper Age Limit is relaxable upto: 40 Years for other Central Government Employees and for Departmental candidates with 3 years continuous service.40 years for OH candidates
